Tidal Touch Massage and Bodywork was founded by Erica Matluck in San Francisco, CA.
Tidal Touch relocated to Seattle, WA last summer when Erica began a naturopathic medical program at Bastyr University.
Although a native of New York, Erica's interest in healing began in Oberlin,
Ohio where she completed her undergraduate work in the premedical sciences and
anthropology. During college she spent time in Santa Cruz and Arizona pursuing an
interest in alternative healing. After completing courses in massage, aromatherapy and
acupressure, she returned to Oberlin to integrate this knowledge into her
studies. Continuing with pre-med courses Erica used her anthropological
background to design an independent study about different cultural
approaches to medicine. Throughout the
project, she worked with a local reflexologist/TCM practitioner and began her
training in Reiki. Working with Reiki Master Sokara Kamillisa, Erica completed
the Reiki Mastership over a 2 year period.
Upon completion of her BA in 2000, Erica spent 16 months in Asia studying
Thai Massage with Master, Lek Chaiya. After returning to the
States, she attended the Heartwood Institute for massage therapy where she
received 570 hours of training in Swedish massage, deep tissue,
hydrotherapy, lymphatic drainage, pregnancy massage, anatomy and
physiology.
Following graduation from the Heartwood Institute, Erica moved to San Francisco
to pursue her passion for healing. She is a Washigton state licensed LMP, nationally certified by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), and a member of Associated Bodyworker and
Massage Professionals (ABMP).
Since 2002, Erica's work has covered a large spectrum, including rehabilitation
work in clinical settings, massage in day spas, teaching introductory massage courses and working in the Belizean jungle training local women in
various bodywork modalities. The mission of Tidal Touch
massage and bodywork is to facilitate the highest level of healing for clients. Every
session is individually tailored to the client's specific needs and targets a
range of issues including emotion, energetic, chronic or acute physical
pain, rehabilitation, overall wellness and prevention. Bodywork is not only a profession, but a lifestyle and a service to humanity. As Erica continues her medical degree, she
will integrate a greater understanding of the human body into her work. Her intention with Tidal Touch is to help the world
become healed whole and complete, one body at a time.
